President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a meeting with Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs of the UAE Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, during which the parties discussed strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation in various fields, TDH reports.
At the meeting, it was emphasized that the relations between the states, established in 1995, are friendly and fraternal in nature, based on the principles of mutual respect, equality and beneficial partnership. Over the past years, there has been a steady increase in the volume of mutual trade turnover, especially in the energy, oil and gas, transport and agricultural sectors. Companies from the UAE are actively involved in the implementation of large projects in Turkmenistan.
Special attention during the talks was paid to international cooperation. The interlocutors noted the important role of Turkmenistan’s neutral status and the strategic goals of the UAE in strengthening interstate relations on the world stage.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov also recalled that 2025 was declared the “International Year of Peace and Trust” at the initiative of Turkmenistan, which coincides with the 30th anniversary of the UN recognition of the country’s neutrality status. The head of state invited Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan to take part in the international forum to be held on December 12 this year in Ashgabat, expressing confidence that this will be a significant contribution to strengthening bilateral friendly relations.
