A gala reception was held in the capital of Turkmenistan in honor of the Victory Day of the Islamic Revolution, organized by the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Opening the event, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Iran to Turkmenistan Ali Mojtaba Rouzbehani noted the high level of bilateral cooperation between the countries. According to him, with the current trade volume of about 470 million US dollars, both countries are actively working to realize the existing potential for cooperation. The ambassador emphasized the importance of such mechanisms for developing relations as regular exchange of delegations, signing documents on expanding bilateral cooperation, as well as intensifying transit cooperation along the North-South route and developing energy partnership.
In turn, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov congratulated the Iranian people on the holiday. He also reported on a telephone conversation between the chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, the national leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Iranian President Messoud Pezeshkian. During the conversation, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov congratulated the Iranian leader on the holiday and conveyed congratulations on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
After the official part, a festive dinner was organized for the guests. The event was attended by representatives of the diplomatic corps, mass media, as well as members of the Iranian diaspora in Turkmenistan.
