The historic inauguration ceremony of Donald Trump took place in the Capitol building in Washington. For the first time in four decades, the ceremonial event was held indoors instead of in the traditional open air. The ceremony was attended by about 600 high-ranking guests, including former President Joe Biden with his wife Jill, as well as former Vice President Kamala Harris with her husband Douglas Emhoff. For thousands of supporters of the new president, a live broadcast of the event was organized on a large screen in the Capital One Arena sports complex, which accommodated about 20 thousand spectators.
Following long-standing traditions, before the ceremony, Trump attended a service at St. John’s Episcopal Church, where Argentine President Javier Miley, Robert Kennedy Jr. and the new president’s children Ivanka and Eric also arrived. Trump then went to the White House for a traditional tea party with the Biden family, who were taking farewell photos at the residence.
