The Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the Economic Cooperation Organization, Ambassador Ylyas Gayipov presented his credentials to the ECO Secretary General, Ambassador Asad M. Khan. This was reported by nCa with reference to the ECO.
The Secretary General, having warmly welcomed Y. Gayipov, emphasized the Secretariat’s readiness to work closely with Turkmenistan in order to strengthen and promote regional cooperation within the ECO.
Permanent Representative Y. Gaypov expressed Turkmenistan’s strong commitment to strengthening regional cooperation. To promote economic growth and stability in the region, there is a need to focus on key sectors such as trade, transport and energy, he said.
The parties also discussed upcoming important events within the ECO, as well as some agenda items aimed at further promoting regional integration and cooperation.
Let us remind that Ylyas Akmuhammedovich Gayipov, Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Islamic Republic of Iran, was appointed permanent representative to the Economic Cooperation Organization by Decree of the President of Turkmenistan.
