A massive traffic accident occurred today, January 3, in the Akmola region of Kazakhstan. According to Nur.kz, at about 1:30 p.m. local time, about 95 cars collided on a section of the road between the villages of Kogam and Karatal in the Birzhan Sal district.
According to the regional police department, the cause of the accident was a sharp deterioration in weather conditions – due to a snowstorm, visibility on the road was significantly limited.
"There is currently no information about victims or injured. Police and emergency services are working on the scene. Cars are being evacuated and road safety is being ensured," the department reported.
