Citizens of Turkmenistan will now be able to use an electronic visa to visit the Russian Federation.
As RIA Novosti reports with reference to the official website of the Russian government, the list of countries whose citizens can come to Russia with a single electronic visa has been expanded. The list now includes 64 states.
The order to expand the list of foreign states whose citizens can apply for a single electronic visa to enter Russia was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
The list includes Barbados, Bhutan, Zimbabwe, Jordan, Kenya, Papua New Guinea, Saint Lucia, Tonga, Trinidad and Tobago, Turkmenistan, and Eswatini.
Recall that the mechanism for issuing electronic visas was launched in the Russian Federation on August 1, 2023. Visas are issued on the portal of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs for tourist, business, humanitarian and guest trips.
To obtain an electronic visa, no invitations, hotel reservations or any other documents confirming the purpose of the trip are required. The processing takes no more than four days. Children under six years of age receive a visa free of charge.
