Today, a delegation of Turkmenistan headed by Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov took part in the fifth meeting of foreign ministers of the Central Asia-China format, which was held in the city of Chengdu, Sichuan Province (PRC).

The heads of the Foreign Ministries of Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and China discussed priority vectors of cooperation and outlined current areas for further partnership. An exchange of views took place on a number of international issues on the regional and global agenda.
The diplomats also discussed preparations for the upcoming second summit of the Central Asia-China format, strengthening and developing political relations, the main areas for further promotion of business cooperation, maintaining and expanding trade ties, ensuring energy and transport interconnectivity.
Then the meeting continued in an expanded format. Particular attention was paid to the discussions on the need to consolidate joint efforts to ensure long-term peace and stability, intensify political, trade, economic and investment cooperation, and expand humanitarian ties.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan noted that the culture of respectful dialogue forms the basis for further strengthening of trust and peace between countries and peoples, it cannot be limited by time frames.
