1. President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated the participants and guests of the Gorkut ata International Film Festival. The head of state noted that Turkmenistan is actively developing friendly relations with other countries, paying special attention to culture and art as bridges of friendship. The main goal of the festival is to promote cooperation in the field of cinematography and the development of cinematography among the Turkic peoples.
2. A two-day international expert-level meeting was held in Ashgabat on protecting critical energy infrastructure from terrorist attacks. The event participants discussed threats to energy infrastructure and exchanged best practices in this area. Particular attention was paid to strengthening international cooperation and coordination of efforts to ensure the reliability and stability of cross-border supplies of energy resources.
3. India plans to deepen its partnership with Turkmenistan in the fields of information technology, medicine, pharmaceuticals and healthcare in 2025. Particular attention will be paid to the development of the IT sector, where India is a recognized leader. Indian companies also intend to take part in the creation of a medical cluster in the city of Arkadag. Indian Ambassador to Ashgabat Madhumita Hazarika Bhagat told reporters at an event at the Indian Embassy dedicated to the launch ceremony of a website for the Indian diaspora in honor of the national holiday Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas, which is celebrated annually on January 9.
4. Since the beginning of 2024, about 2000 tourists from Turkmenistan have visited Malaysia, which became possible thanks to the opening of direct flights between the countries. This fact was announced at the “Discover Malaysia Networking Seminar” training seminar held in Ashgabat. The event, organized by the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan and the Embassy of Malaysia, brought together representatives of about 40 tourism companies of Turkmenistan, as well as representatives of “Türkmenhowaýollary” and “FlyDubai”. The participants discussed opportunities for cooperation and exchanged experiences in the field of tourism.

The Italian Embassy in Turkmenistan will hold a series of gastronomic events from November 18 to 22, marking the IX Italian Cuisine Week, which will be held around the world under the theme “Cuisine of Origins.” Famous Italian chefs will arrive in Ashgabat on a special mission and will conduct exclusive master classes for professional chefs of Turkmenistan. During the master classes, local chefs will be given a unique opportunity to delve into the intricacies of Italian cuisine.

The world record in extreme sports was set by German slackliners Friedi Kühne and Lukas Irmler, who performed an incredible tightrope walk between hot air balloons at a dizzying height of 2,500 meters. This achievement surpassed the previous record in 2021, set in Brazil at an altitude of 1,900 meters.
7. An unusual youth trend is gaining popularity in China – night cycling marathons over tang bao dumplings. The movement, which began with a trip by four students, has grown into a large-scale social phenomenon. The story begins in the summer when a group of students from Zhengzhou University made a 50-kilometer bike ride to the ancient city of Kaifeng to taste the famous steamed dumplings with broth. Sharing their impressions on social networks under the hashtag “Youth is priceless, a night trip to Kaifeng is it,” they inspired thousands of followers.

8. Turkmen freestyle wrestlers won four medals at the Belt and Road international tournament, which ended in Xi'an. The Turkmenistan national team has one gold, one silver and two bronze medals. Dovlet Orazgylyjov won the gold medal in the weight category up to 86 kg. The silver award went to Ziyamuhammet Saparov (up to 125 kg), and the bronze medalists were Perman Hommadov (up to 70 kg) and Shatlyk Hemyaev (up to 97 kg).
