Today, political consultations with the participation of the heads of a number of structural divisions of the Foreign Ministries of Turkmenistan and Tajikistan were held in Ashgabat.
The development of political and diplomatic dialogue between the two countries was discussed at the meeting. The participants emphasized the importance of regular contacts at the highest level. This was reported by the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan.
The diplomats discussed the topic of regional security, in particular, issues of peacebuilding, economic recovery and political stability in Afghanistan, as well as countering new global challenges and threats.
Having emphasized the effectiveness of the partnership between the foreign ministries, the parties highly appreciated the level of cooperation within the framework of the current Cooperation Program between the foreign ministries of the two countries.
During the consultations, a thorough exchange of views took place on issues of foreign policy planning, bilateral consular cooperation, as well as the implementation of the personnel policy of the foreign ministries, the source notes.
