German cardiac surgeon, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Hans Meissner sent a letter to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, in which he expressed his gratitude, reports the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.

Upon returning to my homeland, I decided to express my gratitude to you. The events of the last few days have made a huge impression on me.
I first came to your hospitable country 27 years ago, and we have known each other since then. You care about the health of not only individuals, but also the entire Turkmen people. On your initiative, the State Program “Saglyk” was developed. It is very important and covers all aspects - from nutrition to physical exercise. The citizens of Turkmenistan accepted this Program with great enthusiasm. In this matter, you have shown a thorough approach and achieved great success. I congratulate you on this achievement.
The creation of a health care system includes appropriate medical care. Having built clinics in all specialized areas in recent years, equipped with advanced equipment and highly professional personnel, you have achieved great success. My work in your country was very interesting. My Turkmen colleagues started their work with great enthusiasm and diligence. At present, they are successfully working in cardiology, anesthesia and resuscitation and continue to work on developing constructive cooperation with Germany. All this became possible thanks to your far-sighted wise policy.
It is a great honor for me to have an avenue in the “Medical City” of Ashgabat named after me, I am very proud of it. My gratitude cannot be expressed in words. That day was the most unforgettable in my life. The celebration organized in front of the International Cardiology Center, the place where I first started working in Turkmenistan, and the phaeton ride will forever remain in my memory.
And the medals awarded to me increased my joy, as well as the joy of my wife. It is a great honor for us that you are interested in our family.
The trip to the new city of Arkadag, as well as the Vienna Ball that took place there, the original dance performances and the songs and melodies performed left an unforgettable impression on me.
