On October 6, Turkmenistan marks the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Ashgabat Earthquake of 1948 and the Heroes Who Died on the Battlefields of All Wars. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov took part in the mourning ceremony of laying flowers at the monuments of the Halk Hakydasy Memorial Complex, TDH reports.
- Remembrance of victims of natural disasters and brave defenders of the Motherland is one of the ancient traditions of the Turkmen people. These ceremonies, taking place today both in the capital and in all regions of the country, are intended to convey to the present generation the heroic path of our ancestors and the fortitude of the Turkmen spirit, which allowed them to overcome the hardships and losses of those harsh years, - the report says.
