A family from the UK faced an unexpected problem when applying for a passport for their 7 years old son Loki Skywalker Mowbray. The country's Ministry of Internal Affairs initially refused to issue the document, citing a possible violation of Disney's copyright, daily.afisha.ru reports with reference to Suffolk News.

Loki's parents, former military personnel Christian and Becky Mowbray, chose their son's middle name after the “Star Wars” character Luke Skywalker. The boy was born on May 4, the day fans celebrate “Star Wars” Day.

The problem arose when the family was planning their first holiday in ten years.

Officials suggested that the parents either change the child's name or get permission from Disney to use the name Skywalker. “We didn't anticipate that this would be an issue. We understand that the name is copyrighted, but we are not going to use it for commercial purposes”, - Christian Mowbray said.

Despite the initial refusal, the passport was issued and the family was able to go on a long-awaited vacation. However, the parents admitted that they had experienced a lot of stress and were prepared for the possibility of canceling the trip or changing their son's name.
