President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian sent congratulatory messages to Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on the occasion of Armenia's Independence Day. In his messages, the Iranian leader stressed the importance of bilateral relations and expressed hope for their further strengthening, IRNA reported.
In his message to President Khachaturyan, Pezeshkian expressed confidence in deepening the ties between the two countries in various fields for the benefit of both peoples. Addressing Prime Minister Pashinyan, he noted that Iran was one of the first countries to recognize Armenia's independence, which marked the beginning of good-neighborly relations.
The Iranian President also emphasized the strength and stability of Iranian-Armenian relations, noting their gradual development and progress.
Independence Day of Armenia is the country's national holiday, celebrated annually on September 21. On this day, celebrations are held throughout Armenia, including a military parade in Yerevan, concerts, fireworks, and public festivities.
