Today, the Exhibition of Agricultural Achievements and the International Scientific Conference “Achieved Milestones and Set Objectives in Agricultural Seed Production” opened in Turkmenistan. The events take place on the eve of the 33rd anniversary of the country’s independence and are designed to demonstrate the successes of Turkmenistan in the agricultural sector, reports the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.
President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, in his address to the participants, emphasized the significant efforts being made by the state for the comprehensive development of agronomy. He noted that domestic scientists and specialists are developing new highly productive varieties of crops, taking into account the soil and climatic characteristics of each region of the country.
Particular attention in the President's speech was paid to state support for farmers. According to the head of state, farmers are provided with all the necessary conditions for fruitful work, including high-performance equipment, seed material and fertilizers. This permits us to harvest rich harvests of various crops and strengthen the country’s food security.
The President of Turkmenistan also announced plans for further reform of agriculture in accordance with international practice and the achievements of world science. Particular emphasis will be placed on improving seed production and equipping the industry with advanced equipment from the world's leading manufacturers.
