Jan Ruz, an Estonian master of equilibristics, made history by becoming the first person to cross the border between Asia and Europe on a tightrope over the Bosphorus Strait, “MIR 24” reports with reference to Hürriyet.

This unique stunt was performed on a rope stretched between the pillars of the Martyrs' Bridge in Istanbul. Hundreds of spectators gathered to witness this exciting event.
Rooz covered the distance of 1074 meters in 47 minutes, balancing at a height of 165 meters above the ground. The Bosphorus, connecting the Black Sea and the Sea of Marmara, serves as a natural border between Europe and Asia.

“In addition to connecting two continents, the Bosphorus has a thousand-year-old historical and cultural significance, and is also incredibly beautiful”, - Ruz shared his impressions after his achievement.

The athlete expressed his joy at writing his name into history and called the Bosphorus an ideal place for slacklining, a sport in which athletes balance on a taut rope.

This is not Ruze's first feat: he previously crossed the Strait of Messina between Sicily and mainland Italy on a sling more than 3,6 km long.
