Turkmenistan culture days were held in Hungary

The Days of Culture of Turkmenistan, which took place these days in Hungary, attracted the attention of numerous spectators.

The best groups of the country, renowned ensembles, famous soloists brought to Hungarian soil a diverse palette of Turkmen culture and art, generously gifting viewers and listeners with their skill, talent and originality, the newspaper “Neutral Turkmenistan” reports.

The grand opening of the cultural event took place in the House of Hungarian Heritage in Budapest, where a large gala concert of leading artists and creative groups from the two countries took place. The Turkmen side was represented by such artists as Annaguly Muratdurdyev, Gozel Ovezova, Ahmet Atajanov, Zuleyha Kakayeva, Leyli Okdirova. Turkmen dance art was presented by the artists of the Meňli ensemble.

The next day, a joint meeting of cultural figures from Turkmenistan and Hungary took place at the "House of Heritage".

The Turkmen delegation also took part in the Kurultai festival, which was held from August 9 to 11 in the Bach-Kiskun region in the town of Bugach. This year, the festival was decorated with impressive entrance gates reminiscent of the caravanserais of the Great Silk Road. At the foot of the walls, supported by four towers, impressive exhibitions were located: in addition to ethnographic exhibitions of Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan, an exhibition of works by the famous traveler Arminius Vambery was presented here, which was organized with the help of the Hungarian Geographical Museum.

At the Kurultai, Turkmen artists presented national music and dances, ethnographic compositions telling about the Turkmen wedding. Guests from dozens of countries of the world got acquainted with the exhibition, which included museum valuables of Turkmenistan, national jewelry, clothing, works of fine and decorative and applied art.

Master classes on the Turkmen art of carpet weaving and wood carving were organized for the participants and guests of the festival.

Within the framework of the Kurultai festival, meetings were held with Hungarian parliamentarians and public figures, during which it was noted that the Days of Culture of Turkmenistan served as a powerful incentive for the further development of relations, the exchange of cultural values, joint work to study and preserve the national heritage, and its wide popularization.

Deputy Minister of Culture of Turkmenistan Nursakhet Shirimov presented Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly of Hungary Sandor Lezsak with a Turkmen national costume and a recently published collection of poems “Magtymguly”.
