The Presidents of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan discussed prospects for cooperation

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting in the capital of Kazakhstan, where they discussed prospects for further development of bilateral cooperation. The meeting took place within the framework of the sixth Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia, TDH reports.

The heads of state expressed satisfaction with the opportunity to discuss the current state and prospects for long-term cooperation based on the principles of trust, equality and mutual benefit. Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that interaction between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan covers various areas, including economy, trade, transport and culture.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized the importance of opening trading houses on the territory of both states and holding economic forums to strengthen the partnership. Particular attention was paid to the transport sector, where countries could join forces to create conditions conducive to the integration of transport systems in Central Asia, China, Europe and the Middle East.

Issues of energy cooperation were also discussed, including the supply of Turkmen electricity and natural gas to Uzbekistan.

The leaders noted the successful development of cultural and humanitarian ties, emphasizing their role in strengthening friendship and mutual understanding between peoples.
