An original establishment called Sob Parlour has opened in New York, offering visitors the opportunity to retire and let their tears flow for a reasonable fee. For 20 USD, clients get access to a private room for half an hour, where all the conditions are created for an emotional outburst, Mail.ru reports.
The idea of creating such a space came to Anthony Villiotti after personal experience of overcoming a crisis. He realized the need of city residents for a place where they can temporarily disconnect from the bustle of the big city and immerse themselves in their experiences.
Sob Parlour has thought of every detail for a comfortable stay: soothing music, a cozy environment and even written recommendations for overcoming difficulties. According to the founder, this place provides a rare opportunity to be alone with your thoughts and feelings, which is usually not enough time in everyday life.
Interestingly, this practice has a scientific basis. Research shows that crying promotes the production of substances that improve emotional well-being and also reduces levels of the stress hormone cortisol.
