Vice President of Türkiye Cevdet Yilmaz said that the supply of Turkmen gas through Türkiye will contribute to the national well-being of the country and ensure the energy security of Europe. This statement was made during his speech at an informal summit of member states of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) in Azerbaijan, reports IIC.
Yilmaz emphasized Türkiye's positive assessment of the formation of an energy mechanism within the framework of the OTS and its intention to develop cooperation in this direction. He also noted the ongoing change in world energy centers and the growing importance of the geographical location of the Turkic states.
According to the vice president, these factors open up new prospects for energy cooperation in the region and can play a key role in ensuring European energy security.
