On July 7, Sunday, elections of deputies of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan will be held in Ashgabat to replace those who dropped out in three electoral districts of the capital. Voters will have to elect new deputies for constituencies No. 1 Garaşsyzlyk, No. 2 Bitaraplyk and No. 6 Köpetdag.
According to the State News Agency of Turkmenistan, voting will be held at 60 polling stations from 7:00 to 19:00. The candidates were nominated by the country's three political parties, as well as citizens' groups. Several candidates run for each district, which ensures an alternative nature of the elections.
National observers from political parties and public organizations will monitor the voting process. The election campaign was held in accordance with the legislation of Turkmenistan and international standards, ensuring equal opportunities for all candidates.
