1. In honor of the 60th anniversary of Oleg Kononenko, Hero of Turkmenistan and commander of the “Roscosmos” cosmonaut corps, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov sent congratulatory messages. In his address, the President of Turkmenistan emphasized the significance of Kononenko’s work for global technological progress and improving the lives of mankind.

2. A meeting between representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan and the Ambassador of the UAE was held in Ashgabat. The main topic of discussion was preparation for the upcoming “Turkmenistan-UAE” business forum, which will be held on June 25 within the walls of the chamber.

3. This year, Turkmenistan Culture Week will be held in the new “smart” city of Arkadag from June 22 to 27. The theme of the Week is dedicated to the celebration of the 300th anniversary of the birth of Magtymguly Fragi, as well as the first anniversary of the “smart” city. Within the framework of the Week, the screening of the feature film “Composer” and the premiere of the play “Alem nury” on the stage of the State Drama Theater named after Aman Gulmammedov are expected. 4. Within the framework of the international exhibition Green Tech Amsterdam 2024, a special session was held dedicated to opportunities for Dutch companies in the Turkmen agricultural market. During the meeting, key aspects of Turkmenistan’s foreign policy, based on the principles of neutrality and equal partnership, were discussed. Particular attention was paid to the structure and functions of the Mejlis in the context of legislative support for reforms in the country.

6. A meeting of the heads of parliaments of Turkmenistan and Zimbabwe was held in Ashgabat. Dunyagozel Gulmanova, head of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, received a delegation led by Mabel Chinomona, Chairman of the Upper House of the Parliament of Zimbabwe. During the conversation, Gulmanova spoke about the key aspects of the policy of Turkmenistan, the structure of the national Parliament and the practice of exchanging experience in the legislative sphere. Particular attention was paid to the country's foreign policy.

7. The annual “618” shopping festival has kicked off in China, lasting a whole month. The festival was initiated by the Chinese e-commerce platform JD.com, which first organized a large-scale sale in honor of its founding in 2010. Since then, “618” has become a true shopping festival, attracting millions of shoppers from all over the world.

8. A group of environmental activists entered the territory of London Stansted Airport and poured orange paint on several private planes. The target of their attack was the personal plane of singer Taylor Swift, who these days is preparing for a series of concerts in the British capital. The group Just Stop Oil, which claimed responsibility for the action, said it was a protest against the excessive use of private jets, especially by celebrities.

9. Turkmen mixed martial arts fighter Dovletjan Yagshimuradov will perform on the main card of the upcoming PFL tournament. His opponent in the light heavyweight division will be Cameroonian Simon Biyong. The tournament will be held in Salt Lake City on the night of June 22. The fight between Yagshimuradov and Biyong is expected around 05:30 Ashgabat time. In Turkmenistan, the fight will be broadcast on the Setanta Sports channel.

10. Young Turkmen fencers under the leadership of Jumanazar Dovletnazarov showed off at the Platinum Fencing Cup tournament in Almaty, winning 8 awards in epee fencing. The team has 1 gold, 2 silver and 5 bronze medals. The achievement of Elif Abdullayeva, who became the winner in two age categories at once - among girls and boys born in 2014 and younger, deserves special attention. Such a unique success is the first in the history of Turkmen fencing.

11. The Spanish national team defeated Italy with a score of 1:0 in the second round of the group stage of the European Football Championship, securing access to the playoffs. The only goal came in the 55th minute when Italy defender Riccardo Calafiori sent the ball into his own net. In another group stage match, England and Denmark drew 1:1. Harry Kane opened the scoring in the 18th minute and Morten Julmann equalized in the 34th.
