The German national team won with a score of 2:0 over the Hungarian team in the second round match of the group stage of the European Football Championship and guaranteed itself access to the playoffs of the tournament.
The meeting was held in Stuttgart.
The goals for the German national team were scored by Jamal Musiala (22nd minute) and Ilkay Gundogan (67th minute).
In another group “A” match, the teams of Switzerland and Scotland tied 1:1. The Scots opened the scoring through Scott McTominay (13th minute), but the Swiss managed to come back thanks to a goal from Xherdan Shaqiri (26th minute).
After two rounds, the Swiss team scored 4 points and ranks second in group A. The Scots are in third place with 1 point. The German team is in the lead with 6 points, while the Hungarian team is at the bottom of the standings with no points scored. The German team has already guaranteed itself access to the 1/8 finals of the tournament.
In the final round, the Scottish team will play with the Hungarian team, and the Swiss will meet with the Germans. These matches will be held on June 23.
The European Championships are attended by 24 teams, divided into 6 groups. The two best teams from each quartet and the four best teams from the third places will advance to the 1/8 finals. The final match of the tournament will be held on July 14 in Berlin.
Today, June 20, will be the sixth game day of the European Championship. It will include three matches: teams from group C will start, Slovenia will meet with Serbia, and Denmark will meet with England. After that, we will move to group B, where the Spaniards and Italians will play each other.
