The Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Belgium Sapar Palvanov handed over a handmade carpet with the image of Magtymguly Fragi to the Secretary General of the World Customs Organization (WCO) Ian Saunderson.

The Turkmen carpet will complement the existing collection of cultural property of the museum at the headquarters of the World Customs Organization. The MIC reports this.

S. Palvanov, noting that skilled Turkmen craftswomen created the carpet in four months, emphasized that the carpet is decorated with five authentic patterns symbolizing the regions of Turkmenistan. Each has its own unique history and cultural significance.

The WCO Secretary General expressed his gratitude for such a generous gift to the museum and praised the exquisite craftsmanship and cultural value of the carpet.

Noting that the carpet will certainly inspire museum visitors to study the legacy of the great poet and philosopher, Ian Saunders emphasized his familiarity with the work of Magtymguly Fragi and compared him with William Shakespeare.
