The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) accuses Adobe of violating consumer protection laws. According to the regulator, the company imposes annual subscriptions without properly disclosing the penalties for early termination, which can reach hundreds of dollars. This is reported by daily.afisha.ru with reference to Bloomberg.

The FTC called the cancellation process overly complicated. Users must go through a confusing, multi-step process on the site or contact support, discouraging many from their legal right to a refund.

Cancellation of a subscription with a refund is only possible within 14 days of use. After this period, no refund is possible, and for an annual subscription with monthly payment, the user will have to pay 50% of the remaining amount even if terminated early.

Adobe intends to challenge the claim in court.
