1. On behalf of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, Chairman of the Mejlis Dunyagozel Gulmanova accepted credentials from the new Ambassador of Australia to Turkmenistan John William Geering. Ambassador Giering expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and hospitality on Turkmen soil. He conveyed the best wishes from the leadership of Australia to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and emphasized that he considered it a great honor to represent his country in independent neutral Turkmenistan.
2. At the Magtymguly Turkmen State University, a solemn ceremony was held to award the winners of the annual competition of scientific works among youth, which is financed by the Fund of the President of Turkmenistan for the Support of Young Scientists. This year, 1 670 young scientists and students took part in the competition, presenting their developments in various areas.
3. The Chairman of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan held a meeting with the Ambassador of Pakistan to Turkmenistan Ahsan Vahan. During the meeting, the diplomat spoke about the effective development of interstate and international cooperation, ongoing reforms in Turkmenistan, as well as the importance of the events organized in honor of the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly Fragi.
4. 30 Indian companies wish to visit Turkmenistan to get acquainted with the capabilities of the Turkmenbashy seaport. This was stated by the Ambassador of India in Ashgabat Madhumita Hazarika Bhagat at a meeting at the agency “Sea and River Routes of Turkmenistan”. The meeting was devoted to the issues of establishing cooperation in the field of maritime transport, as well as the possibility of transit of goods through the Turkmenbashy international seaport.
5. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met with the newly appointed head of the UN Children's Fund Office Jalpa Ratna, who presented copies of her credentials. Minister Meredov congratulated the diplomat on her appointment and wished her success and new achievements in her mission.

6. A group of biologists from the British Museum of Natural History made an amazing discovery - a new species of herbivorous piranhas living in the Amazon River basin. When they saw these unusual fish, scientists immediately remembered the famous villain from the cult saga “The Lord of the Rings” - Sauron. Unique creatures were discovered in the waters of the Xingu River, a tributary of the Amazon that flows through Brazil. This river basin is known for its impressive biodiversity, with over 600 species of fish.
7. The opening ceremony of the Azerbaijani Culture Days was held at the “Uzbekistan” Palace of International Forums in Tashkent. The event was attended by representatives of the general public, literary and artistic figures, as well as creative youth. Over the course of three days, literary meetings, book presentations, cultural and educational events and exhibitions introducing Azerbaijani culture are planned in the capital of Uzbekistan.

The draw for the 2025 Asian Cup U-17 qualifying tournament was held today in Kuala Lumpur. 43 teams have been divided into 10 groups for the preliminary round, which will be held from October 19 to 27, 2024. The Turkmenistan U17 national team was drawn into group D along with group hosts Thailand, as well as India and Brunei.
9. The famous Turkmen specialist Kurban Berdyev will soon head the Azerbaijani “Turan”. This was stated by the club's sports director. In the last season of the Azerbaijani Championship, “Turan” took 6th place, gaining 48 points.
