London's Wembley Stadium witnessed another triumph for Real Madrid in the Champions League final. In the decisive match, the Spanish giants won a landslide victory over Borussia Dortmund with a score of 2:0.

The key figures in Real's winning performance were Dani Carvajal and Vinicius, who scored goals in the 74th and 83rd minutes respectively. This victory allowed four Royal Club players – Carvajal, Nacho Fernandez, Toni Kroos and Luka Modric – to repeat the record for the most Champions League titles among footballers, bringing their personal tally to six.

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti achieved an equally impressive achievement. The Italian specialist, who lifted the main trophy of European club football over his head for the fifth time, strengthened his leadership in the list of the most titled coaches of the tournament.

Real, having already won their 15th Champions League title, pulled away even further from their pursuers. The closest competitor, Milan, has seven victories to its credit.

For Borussia this final was the third in history. In 1997, the Germans celebrated their victory over Juventus, and in 2013 they lost to Bayern at the same Wembley.

On August 14, Real Madrid will meet the winner of the Europa League, Italian Atalanta, in the match for the UEFA Super Cup. The game will take place in Warsaw.

The 2025 Champions League final will be held in Munich at the Allianz Arena.

Starting from the 2024/25 season, the format of the Champions League will undergo changes – the number of participants will increase to 36, they will play in the same group according to the Swiss system. The clubs will play eight matches against different teams – four each at home and away, the pairs will be determined by a draw after seeding.

The first eight teams in the overall table will advance to the next round. 9th-24th places will play play-offs to qualify for the playoffs. The remaining teams will finish the season without continuing to compete in the Europa League.
