1. The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov visited the Children's Health and Rehabilitation Center in the city of Arkadag, where at a working meeting he got acquainted with the activities of the Charitable Foundation to assist children in need of care. Hundreds of young patients undergo treatment and rehabilitation at the Center. It was also reported that, at the expense of the Foundation, the International Mathematical Olympiad among schoolchildren was held and measures are being taken to create a children's equestrian team.
2. Today, May 31, progressive humanity celebrates World No Tobacco Day. On this day, events around the world aim to draw attention to the health risks associated with tobacco use and call for effective policies to reduce tobacco use. This year, this date is celebrated under the motto “Protecting children from the interference of the tobacco industry”. Turkmenistan has achieved great success in the fight against tobacco. In addition, by committing to achieving tobacco-free status by 2025, the Government of Turkmenistan has become the largest donor to tobacco control in the European Region, providing significant financial support for the implementation of the draft Ashgabat Declaration.
3. “Turkmenistan” Airlines is increasing the number of flights from Ashgabat, Mary and Turkmenabat in the direction of Turkmenbashy. With the beginning of the holiday season in the national tourist zone “Avaza”, the Open Joint Stock Company “Turkmenistan” Airlines increased the number of flights to meet the increased demand of passengers. Additional flights were added on the routes Mary - Turkmenbashy - Mary, Turkmenabat - Turkmenbashy - Turkmenabat, and the number of flights on the route Ashgabat - Turkmenbashy - Ashgabat was increased to 16 per week.
4. Turkmenistan is actively preparing for the upcoming elections of Mejlis deputies in three electoral districts of Ashgabat. Elections are scheduled for July 7. An important stage of the election campaign - the nomination of candidates - began on May 8. Currently, meetings are being held at which the country's parties - the Democratic Party, the Party of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs and the Agrarian Party, as well as groups of citizens - nominate their representatives as candidates. Nomination of candidates will last until June 6, their registration until June 11. After this, candidates will begin presenting their election programs on television and meeting with voters.
5. Polat Bayramov, a student at the Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management, won “gold” in the project competition at the International World Student Innovation Exhibition iWISE-2024 in London. The competition was organized in three main areas: art, talent and STEM. Polat received a gold medal for his project “Teaching children to count using artificial intelligence”. His presentation was held online, at the end of which the student answered all questions from the jury members. Participants who won medals in the online round of the competition are invited to the final, which will take place in person in London.

To do this, Connor plans to use a two-seater submarine capable of descending to a depth of more than 3,7 kilometers. It is worth noting that this expedition will be a response to the tragic accident of the “Titan” bathyscaphe, which occurred in 2023.

8. The Turkmenistan team won 7 medals at once, including 3 gold, 1 silver and 3 bronze medals at the World Youth Weightlifting Championships in Peru. About 280 young athletes from 50 countries came to the tournament. The main star of the Turkmen team was Suleiman Jafarov, who competed in the weight category up to 102 kg. He surpassed all his competitors, winning gold medals in the snatch and combined events, as well as a bronze medal in the clean and jerk.
9. The Combat Sambo Grand Prix, which was held according to the new rules of the Combat Sambo League, ended in Ulan-Ude. In the weight category up to 88 kg, Turkmenistan Suvhan Ovezgeldiyev won. Wrestlers from Russia, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan took part in the competition. The winners were awarded cash prizes in the amount of 100 thousand rubles and championship belts.
