American Larry Connor, a famous investor and a tourist who recently visited space, intends to dive to the sunken “Titanic”, RBC reports.
The goal of this ambitious expedition is not only to explore the famous liner, but also to demonstrate the safety of such underwater travel.
To do this, Connor plans to use a two-seater Triton 4000/2 Abyssal Explorer submarine, capable of descending to a depth of more than 3,7 kilometers.
It is worth noting that this expedition will be a response to the tragic accident of the “Titan” bathyscaphe, which occurred in 2023.
Larry Connor is no stranger to the risks of space and underwater travel. In April 2022, he became part of SpaceX's first all-civilian mission, AX-1, to the ISS.
The new expedition to the “Titanic” does not have an exact date.
