Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met in Astana with the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. The parties discussed issues of strategic partnership between the countries, the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry reports.
The head of the foreign policy department conveyed greetings to the head of Kazakhstan from the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. The interlocutors emphasized the decisive role of high-level contacts in strengthening Turkmen-Kazakh relations.
The fruitful multilateral cooperation between the two countries, in particular within the UN, was noted. During the negotiations, prospects for the further development of bilateral cooperation in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres were discussed.
The parties highly appreciated the effectiveness of intergovernmental, interparliamentary and interdepartmental relations. There was also an exchange of views on current regional and international issues of mutual interest.
