Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Mikhail Mishustin reviewed the prospects for Turkmen-Russian cooperation

During the meeting within the framework of the meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the CIS member states, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin discussed the strengthening of Turkmen-Russian relations and the intensification of trade and economic interaction between the two countries, the MIC reports.

The parties noted the positive dynamics of growth in bilateral trade. According to Mishustin, in the first quarter of 2024 alone, trade turnover increased by 22%.

The meeting also touched upon issues of cultural and humanitarian cooperation, scientific and educational exchange and interaction in the field of healthcare.

Mikhail Mishustin emphasized that Russia is widely celebrating the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great Turkmen poet and thinker Magtymguly Fragi, whose anniversary falls in 2024, declared in Turkmenistan the year of “The Fount of the Mind of Magtymguly Fragi.”
