The doctor uses a laser or needle to make an incision in the cornea and inject pigment into the resulting “pocket”, which masks the natural color of the iris.
Doctors believe that performing such an operation solely for the sake of beauty does not have sufficient grounds. Such injections can cause vision problems even in people who previously had no eye problems, up to and including complete blindness.
