1. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting at which the progress of seasonal field campaigns in the country was reviewed. Currently, inter-row cultivation, thinning and weeding are carried out on the fields. At the same time, agricultural machinery and units are effectively used. The care of the wheat fields enters the final stage. Relevant work is also carried out to collect, transport, receive in the prescribed manner and properly store grain at receiving points.

2. As a sign of solidarity with the people of Iran and in connection with the death of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ebrahim Raisi, the national flags of Turkmenistan are flown at half-mast on the buildings of the Turkmen Embassy in Tehran and the Consulate General in Mashhad.

3. The XXIV meeting of the World Association of Turkmen Carpet Connoisseurs will be held in Ashgabat. The forum will be held on the occasion of the Turkmen carpet holiday, celebrated in the country on the last Sunday of May. It is expected that the forum will be attended by famous carpet weavers, admirers of the art of Turkmen carpet weaving, scientists, specialists, and representatives of carpet weaving companies from around the world.

4. Meetings of the heads of cultural departments of Turkmenistan and Armenia were held in Ashgabat. At the negotiations, the parties discussed holding the Days of Armenian Culture in Turkmenistan in Ashgabat in October and a concert dedicated to the outstanding Armenian composer Arno Babajanyan. The concert will be performed by the Armenian symphony orchestra.

5. During a telephone conversation between the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, the prospects for the further development of traditional bilateral cooperation were discussed. The interlocutors emphasized that for centuries the Turkmen and Tatar peoples have maintained close ties based on common cultures, similar languages, a common religion, as well as mutual respect and equality.

6. A presentation of the book “Magtymguly” was held in Ashgabat, which included selected works of the great Turkmen poet. The collection, dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of the classic of Turkmen literature, was prepared by the Institute of Language, Literature and National Manuscripts named after Magtymguly of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan. As President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized at a recent meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, this collection of poems by the great Turkmen thinker, which has become a universal treasure, will be a worthy gift to the Turkmen people. The first copy of the book was sent to the National Leader of the Turkmen people.

7. Japanese food giant Kirin Holdings has launched an electric spoon that can enhance the taste of salt in dishes without adding salt. Kirin plans to sell 200 of the spoons at 127 USD each through its online store this month, followed by a limited supply at retail stores in Japan next month.

9. Football players of the national team of Turkmenistan will begin preparations for the June games of the second qualifying round of the World Cup. On May 26, the team will go to a training camp in Antalya, Türkiye, where they will stay until June 4. On June 6 in Tashkent, Mergen Orazov’s team will meet with the team of Uzbekistan. Immediately after this, the Turkmen team will return to Ashgabat, where they will host Hong Kong on June 11.

10. Former head coach of “Dynamo” Makhachkala Kurban Berdyev laid the foundation for the team’s victorious movement, which permitted it to enter the Russian Premier League, said the club’s general director Shamil Gazizov.
