1. The Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan put forward the initiative to develop an “Islamic Initiative for Peace, Mutual Understanding and Trust” during a speech at a meeting of the Strategic Vision Group “Russia - Islamic World” in Kazan. This initiative is considered by Ashgabat as a set of approaches based on Islamic tenets of peace, goodness and justice, addressed to all peoples of the planet, said the head of the highest body of people's power of Turkmenistan.

2. Turkmenistan officially accepted the chairmanship of the International Organization of Turkic Culture at a ceremony in Ashgabat. At the 10th meeting of the National Commissions for UNESCO of the TURKSOY member countries, the Secretary General of the organization Sultan Raev handed over the symbol of chairmanship to the executive secretary of the National Commission of Turkmenistan for UNESCO Chinar Rustemova. Rustemova will chair TURKSOY on behalf of Turkmenistan.

3. Today, in the south of Ashgabat, the cultural and park complex “Magtymguly Fragi” and the majestic monument to the poet, 60 meters high, will be solemnly opened. The sculptor, People's Artist of Turkmenistan, honorary elder Saragt Babayev and his team worked on the Magtymguly monument and sculptures of outstanding personalities in the park complex.

4. An international conference at the level of ministers of culture dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of Magtymguly Fragi opened in Ashgabat today. On this occasion, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov addressed a congratulatory message to the forum participants.

5. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov appointed the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Saudi Arabia, Orazmuhammet Charyev, as both the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Kingdom of Bahrain. It should be noted that Charyev is also the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Egypt, Palestine, Oman and Jordan.

6. The National Leader of the Turkmen people met with the State Councilor of the Republic of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev. The head of the highest body of people's power of Turkmenistan highly appreciated the successful development of Tatarstan in various areas and the growing authority of the republic in the international arena. During the meeting, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov wished the success of the KazanForum and all events aimed at revealing the trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural potential of Russia’s interaction with the Islamic world.

7. The American TV channel Food Network has announced a new cooking show called “Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking”. In this show, contestants will compete to create magical desserts inspired by the world of Harry Potter. The show will be hosted by James and Oliver Phelps, known to fans of the franchise as the Weasley twin brothers. The show will be filmed on the Leavesden Studios, where the Hogwarts films were made. Viewers will be able to see familiar locations such as “The Burrow”, “Gringotts”, Platform 9¾ and the Great Hall. “Harry Potter: Baking Wizards” is scheduled to premiere in late 2024.

8. The World Health Organization calls for reducing salt intake to reduce deaths from cardiovascular disease. According to a new WHO report, 42,5% of all deaths in Europe are associated with cardiovascular diseases, including those caused by excess salt intake. Every day 10 thousand people die from these diseases. Moreover, men are 2,5 times more likely to be at risk than women.

9. The International Football Federation plans to organize a tour of football legends around the world, and in the future hold a World Cup among former players. The president of the organization, Gianni Infantino, announced this during the 74th FIFA Congress in Bangkok.

10. Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo took first place in the ranking of the highest paid athletes in the world according to Forbes magazine. The “Al-Nasr” striker from Saudi Arabia earned 260 million USD in a year. Forbes notes that this figure is a record for football players. Ronaldo topped this ranking for the fourth time in his career. The second place in the list of the highest paid athletes is taken by the Spanish golfer Jon Rahm, his earnings amounted to 218 million USD. The third place was taken by the Argentine football player of the American “Inter Miami”, Lionel Messi, who earned 135 million USD.
