State Special Music School named after Danatar Ovezov at the Turkmen National Conservatory named after M. Kuliyeva celebrates the 95th anniversary of its foundation.
To commemorate the anniversary on the stage of the National Music and Drama Theater Magtymguly held a reporting concert for students from all departments of the educational institution, reports the publication “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”.
People's Artist, senior teacher at the conservatory, composer Danatar Hydyrov says:
– This is where I began my path into the profession. Under the guidance of Valentin Ivanovich Mitkalev, I mastered playing the piano and studied music theory. Many years have passed, but no matter where I work, I always combine my activities with mentoring within the walls of my native school.
Also, on the occasion of the anniversary year, school specialists Merdangeldy Kerimov, Sahra Bayryeva and Mahriban Jumayeva prepared the book “Türkmen saz biliminiň binýady” (“Foundation of Turkmen music education”) for release.
The book contains facts from the history of the creation of a music school and presents the biography of the Turkmen composer and conductor Danatar Ovezov. The book also contains chapters devoted to the activities of the choir, the orchestra of Turkmen folk instruments “Shirvan”, the pop and symphony orchestras operating at the school.
Music School named after Danatar Ovezova (formerly the Turkmen State Music College), which opened in 1929, became a forge of creative personnel for the country and produced many qualified specialists.
