Turkmenistan accredited the new Ambassador of Angola, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov plans to visit KazanForum 2024, the “Chinese Railways” delegation visited the seaport of Turkmenbashy and other news

1. On behalf of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, Chairman of the Mejlis Dunyagozel Gulmanova accepted credentials from the Ambassador of the Republic of Angola to Turkmenistan Augusto da Silva Cunha. During the meeting, the ambassador was familiarized with the main directions of the country’s domestic and foreign policy, the constant priority of which was and remains broad international cooperation in the interests of peace, global security and sustainable development, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan said in a statement.

2. National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov plans to attend the international economic forum “Russia - Islamic World: KazanForum 2024”. RIA Novosti reports this with reference to the head of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.

3. A delegation of the State Corporation “Chinese Railways” headed by General Director Qian Ming visited the Turkmenbashy International Seaport on a working visit. The visit was aimed at getting acquainted with the capabilities and development of one of the country’s key transport hubs. The guests studied in detail the infrastructure of the port, its technical equipment and promising areas of development.

4. A presentation of the book “Youth is the support of the Motherland” translated into Turkish by President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov was held in the capital of Türkiye. The event, organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan and the Union of Architects and Engineers of the Turkic World, was held in the library of the palace complex of the President of Türkiye.

5. In the Kunyaurgench etrap of the Dashoguz velayat of Turkmenistan, the construction of a new modern village continues on the territory of the Taze yol gengeshlik. After completion of the work, the village will consist of a variety of administrative, socio-cultural and industrial buildings, as well as hundreds of comfortable residential buildings, including two-story cottages with a full range of amenities for new residents.

6. The International Round Table “Magtymguly Fragi – the Great Enlightener and Thinker of the Turkic World” was held at the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan. During the event, the topics of Magtymguly’s common perception of the world and his universal goals were touched upon. Tatarstan scientists reported on the advisability of considering the possibility of erecting a monument to Magtymguly Fragi in Kazan and a monument to Tukay in Ashgabat. The event ended with Magtymguly Fraga’s poem “Gözel sen”, which was read by Turkmen KFU student Roza Begaliyeva in Turkmen, Russian and Tatar languages.

7. Scientists at the University of Michigan have found that the order in which teachers grade papers can influence students' grades. A study published in the journal Management Science found that when teachers graded papers in alphabetical order, students with last names starting with A through E scored 0,3 points higher on average than those with last names starting with A. F by Z. When tested in random order, no such effect was observed.

8. Hockey players of the Turkmen “Galkan” were the first to reach the finals at the international tournament taking place in Ashgabat, the main trophy of which is being contested by 10 teams from Asia and Europe, divided into two groups. The wards of Andrei Makarov and Meylis Kuliyev achieved this success by defeating the “Feniks” team from Uzbekistan in the 4th round match with a score of 9:1. Having won their fourth victory in a row, “Galkan” scored 12 points and secured first place in group “A” ahead of schedule.

9. Pupils of the Turkmen table tennis school Ilyas Allanazarov and Vepa Meredov became silver medalists in team competitions at the international tournament among boys and girls under 15 years old, which was held from April 10 to 17 in Balikesir, Türkiye. In the final, Turkmen athletes lost to the current European U15 champions in a bitter struggle with a score of 3:2.

10. In the return match of the quarterfinal stage of the Europa League, the German “Bayer” drew with the English “West Ham” with a score of 1:1, and advanced to the semi-finals of the tournament after two meetings. The Leverkusen club extended its unbeaten streak to 44 matches; the team is unbeaten this season – 38 wins and 6 draws in all tournaments.
