The President of Turkmenistan made personnel changes during a meeting on issues of the agro-industrial complex, “Galkan” hockey players started with a victory at the international tournament in Ashgabat, the poems of the Turkmen classic Magtymguly will be translated into Serbian and other news

1. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting on the digital system, during which he heard reports from the hyakims on the development of the agricultural industry. The head of state instructed to keep the timing of cotton sowing and care of wheat crops under strict control.

2. During the meeting, the President of Turkmenistan also made a number of personnel appointments, in particular: he appointed Berdimuhammet Taganov as hyakim of the Sakarchaga etrap of Mary velayat, and Serdar Kakabayev as deputy hyakim of Ahal velayat for agriculture.

3. In addition, Kakageldi Haytekov and Yslam Nursahatov were appointed to the positions of deputy chairmen of the State Association of Livestock and Poultry Industry, and Muhammetberdi Ovezmyradov took a similar post in the State Association of Food Industry.

4. The imperishable works of the Turkmen poet Magtymguly will be translated into Serbian. This issue was discussed during the meeting between the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Russian Federation Esen Aydogdyev and the Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia in Moscow Momcilo Babic. During the meeting, diplomats exchanged views on the progress of bilateral cooperation. It was noted that relations between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Serbia have great potential, including in such areas as economics, trade, investment, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

5. The 38th meeting of the Conference of heads and responsible representatives of railway transport enterprises of member countries of the Organization for Cooperation between Railways began work in Ashgabat. The meeting will last until April 19. The forum is attended by managers and high-ranking representatives of railway departments from 19 countries. It is expected that following the conference, important documents will be signed aimed at further developing cooperation in the field of railway transport.

6. During the International Forum to attract foreign investment in the energy sector of Turkmenistan, which will be held on April 24-25 in Paris, the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan, together with the Embassy of Turkmenistan in France and the Permanent Mission of Turkmenistan to UNESCO, will organize a number of cultural events dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the great Turkmen poet, philosopher and humanist Magtymguly Fragi. On April 24, a concert of the State Symphony Orchestra of Turkmenistan will be held at the UNESCO headquarters. In addition, from April 22 to 26, an exhibition dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great poet will be open at UNESCO headquarters.

7. The American company Bark, a famous manufacturer of dog toys, has launched Bark Air charter flights designed exclusively for the transport of dogs and their owners. So far, Bark Air flights operate only in two directions: from New York to Los Angeles and London. Unlike regular flights, where small animals travel in carriers in the cabin and large animals travel in the cargo hold, Bark Air provides each four-legged passenger with a separate seat.

8. Kenta Adachi from Japan has become the new world record holder for the most pull-ups in 24 hours. He managed to complete 8 940 pull-ups, 300 reps ahead of the previous record holder, Gary Lloyd of Australia. This is not Adati's first record. In 2022, he was already included in the Guinness World Records, having pulled himself up 651 times in a row. It is worth noting that the athlete himself was not always a sports fan. His motivation for training came when he joined the Japanese Coast Guard in 2007, where he failed a pull-up test.

9. The opening ceremony of the international ice hockey tournament was held in Ashgabat. Club teams from ten countries in Europe and Asia take part in the competition. The ceremony was held at the 10-thousand seat indoor ice arena of the Winter Sports Complex, where all matches of the tournament will be held. At the ceremony, the welcoming address of the President of Turkmenistan was solemnly read out. After the official part, a musical and theatrical performance was held with the participation of cultural figures and students of sports schools. The skaters performed demonstration numbers.

10. After the ceremony, the teams of Turkmenistan and Bahrain took to the ice. Hockey players of the “Galkan” hockey club won a landslide victory over the team from Bahrain with a score of 8:1.

11.The national futsal teams of Turkmenistan and Belarus will meet in a series of friendly games as part of joint training camps. The first game will be held on April 20 at the Mogilev sports complex “Olympian” at 16:00 Ashgabat time. The return match will be held on April 22 at the “Uruchye” Sports Palace in Minsk at 20:00 Ashgabat time.
