Film studio Warner Bros. became the first in 2024 to gross more than 1 billion USD at the international box office. This record result was achieved in just 15 weeks. Film.ru reports this with reference to Deadline.
The success was driven by two high-profile releases: Dune 2 and Godzilla vs. Kong: New Empire. The sequel to Denis Villeneuve's sci-fi blockbuster, which opened in early March, has already grossed $411.8 million USD in international markets, and taking into account the North American box office, this figure reaches $683.9 million.
"A New Empire" earned $278.6 million ($436.6 million USD total). Other successful releases from Warner Bros. Worth noting are Wonka and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.
