A large-scale bike ride dedicated to World Health Day was held in Ashgabat with the participation of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov. Similar events were organized in the city of Arkadag and in all velayats of the country, TDH reports.
The bicycle rides were attended by deputy chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers, heads of parliament, ministries, law enforcement agencies, the capital administration, public organizations, universities, as well as representatives of the diplomatic corps and international organizations accredited in Turkmenistan. Among the participants were athletes of the national cycling team, students, students of the Young Olympians Training School and students of the Döwletliler köşgi Palace.
In Ashgabat, the bike ride started from the “Bicycle” monument at the intersection of Chandybil Avenue and Bekreve Street. The President of Turkmenistan personally led the column of participants and drove along the bright marble avenues of the Turkmen capital. The festive atmosphere was complemented by performances by creative groups and athletes along the route.
During the cyclocross, the head of state demonstrated excellent physical fitness. The bike ride ended in the city center, at the intersection of Bitarap Turkmenistan and A. Niyazov avenues.
Addressing Deputy Prime Minister B. Annamammedov, who is in charge of Ashgabat, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov instructed to keep the issues of improvement, landscaping and environmental well-being of the Turkmen capital under constant control.
In Turkmenistan, in honor of World Health Day, thematic round tables, scientific and practical conferences, sports competitions and cultural events were organized with the participation of youth, institutional workers and athletes.
Special television and radio broadcasting and publications in the media were also dedicated to the celebration.
