Today, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, negotiations were held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the regional coordinator of the International Organization for Migration for Central Asia (IOM) Zeynal Hajiyev.
The parties noted the positive practice of cooperation between Turkmenistan and IOM. Issues of ensuring the rights of refugees and stateless persons and combating human trafficking are considered by Turkmenistan as priority areas of cooperation with authoritative international organizations.
Issues regarding the implementation of joint projects between the Government of Turkmenistan and the IOM for the near future were considered.
During the conversation, it was emphasized that the country is implementing systematic work to eradicate stateless persons in accordance with the National Action Plan for 2019-2024, reports the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
