In Ashgabat, a meeting was held between the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and representatives of the business community of the Republic of Korea, at which issues of the current state and promising directions of the Turkmen-Korean partnership were discussed, reports the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.
Welcoming the guests in the white marble capital, the head of the highest body of people's power of Turkmenistan expressed confidence that the current visit of Korean businessmen will be an important stage in the expansion of traditional ties between the countries, and wished success in the implementation of new joint initiatives.
In the context of industrialization of the national economy, Chairman Halk Maslahaty focused on the emerging new areas of interaction with Korean partners. Constructive cooperation between the two countries on international platforms and effective inter-parliamentary interaction were emphasized.
Highly appreciating the fruitful partnership with leading Korean companies in various sectors of the Turkmen economy, the National Leader of the Turkmen people noted the successful implementation of a number of large projects in the country’s fuel and energy complex with the participation of the Korean side.
In this regard, the head of the highest body of people's power of Turkmenistan voiced proposals regarding joint work on the development of the fourth stage of the giant “Galkynysh” gas field and the construction of a training center for the study of the Korean language. The presence of many years of experience in Turkmen-Korean business interaction and the opening of new prospects for long-term cooperation, taking into account big plans for the production and processing of natural gas, were also emphasized.
Among the key vectors of partnership, Chairman Halk Maslahaty named transport, logistics, shipbuilding, tourism, and healthcare. A proposal was voiced to establish direct flights between the two countries.
Having expressed sincere gratitude to the head of the highest body of people's power of Turkmenistan for a substantive business conversation, Korean businessmen confirmed their readiness to further deepen mutually beneficial cooperation with Turkmenistan, which is following the path of sustainable development and has powerful economic potential.
