Representatives of major global media companies will take part in the international forum in Ashgabat

Representatives of major world media companies, information platforms and agencies, as well as world-famous universities for training specialists in the field of media will take part in the media forum “Turkmen Land - the Center of Ancient Civilizations”, which will be held in Ashgabat within the framework of the celebrations on the occasion of the announcement of the city of Anev as the cultural capital of the Turkic world in 2024 and the 300th anniversary of the birth of Magtymguly Fragi.

The forum starts on March 28 at the capital's “Yyldyz” hotel and includes four sections: “The unity of Turkic culture and its role in the media”, “The Fount of Wisdom of Magtymguly Fragi”, “Digital Media and News”, and “Films, Animations and Film Festivals”.

Among the forum participants are the Secretary General of TURKSOY Sultan Raev, the General Director of the Union of News Agencies of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Alami Mohammed, the founder of the digital platform New Media Networks, film producer Akim Mogadzhi, the head of the representative office of the International Film Forum “Golden Knight” of Georgia D. Okropiridze, the director of the British company New Media Design Erzurumlu Ilhami Umid and others.

Representatives of a number of Russian and Turkish television channels, the manager of the Academy for Training Business Managers of the European Broadcasting Union, the deputy director of the Cinematography Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan and many others will also take part in the forum as speakers.

For example, in the “Digital Media and News” section, Frederic Franz, manager of the Academy for the Training of Business Managers of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), Mikhail Gusman, deputy general director of the Russian news agency “ITAR TASS”, Irina Kuzminskaya, head of the education department, are expected to speak State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company “MIR”, head of the TV channel “Big Asia” Alexander Lebedev.

Within the framework of the events to mark the announcement of the city of Anev as the cultural capital of the Turkic world in 2024, meetings of foreign guests with Turkmen students are also planned. For example, Javad Mottaghi, a professor at the Faculty of International Relations and Cooperation at the Canadian University HEC Montreal, will hold a meeting with students of the Faculty of Journalism at the Magtymguly Turkmen State University.

Excursions to the historical monuments of Ashgabat and the city of Arkadag are planned for all guests of the forum.
