23 years old midfielder of the Kyrgyz “Abdysh-Ata” Teymur Charyev has been invited to the Turkmenistan national team to participate in the March training camp and qualifying matches for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the press service of the national team of Turkmenistan reported.
Charyev will join the national team immediately after the return match of the 1/4 finals of the 2023/24 AFC Cup, in which his team “Abdysh-Ata” will play with the Taiwanese “Taichung Futuro” on March 13. In the first meeting of these teams, which ended in the victory of “Abdysh-Ata” with a score of 5:0, Charyev scored a goal in the 89th minute.
The Turkmenistan national team will go to the United Arab Emirates on March 11-12 to prepare for the upcoming matches. On March 14, a test match with the national team of Kazakhstan is planned in Dubai.
Then head coach Mergen Orazov’s team will fly to Tehran, where on March 21 at the “Azadi” stadium they will play against the Iranian national team within the framework of the 2026 World Cup qualifying round. Upon returning to
Ashgabat, Turkmen football players will continue to prepare for the return game against the Iranians, which will be held on March 26.
The final composition of the national team for the March training camp and qualifying matches will be announced after the 3rd round of the Turkmenistan Championship.
