The Turkmenistan national table tennis team is taking part in joint Turkmen-Iranian training camps, which take place from February 10 to 16 in Tehran, a Turkmenportal correspondent reports.
The team of 14 athletes and three coaches was formed with the assistance of the State Committee of Turkmenistan for Sports. For the first time, young stars of Turkmen table tennis from Ashgabat and Mary - Silapberdi Yolbarsov, Arslan Gurbanov and Charymuhammet Muradov - are participating in such an event.
According to the Chairman of the Table Tennis Federation of Turkmenistan, Agamurad Allanazarov, these camps are necessary because Iran is the leader in Central Asia in table tennis and has a strong school.
Training takes place in the Olympic village of Tehran with the participation of leading coaches and athletes of the Iranian national team. Turkmenistan is represented by coaches: Enejan Ballyeva, Timura Volchemis and Begench Agaorazov.
-The Iranian side has created excellent conditions, which will improve the qualifications of Turkmen mentors and contribute to the growth of the skills of young Turkmen tennis players, Allanazarov emphasized.
During the training camp, the delegation of Turkmenistan met with the head of the Iranian Table Tennis Federation, Mehrdat Aligardashi. The parties discussed further cooperation. The President of the Iranian Federation noted the high level of training of young Turkmen athletes.
