On February 2, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers via digital communication, during which issues of the socio-economic development of the country, the implementation of previously adopted decisions and resolutions were discussed, and new legislative initiatives were also considered.
In particular, the meeting touched upon the topics of construction of new infrastructure facilities, development of the transport industry, horse breeding, oil and gas industry and other key sectors of the economy. Special attention was paid to issues of international cooperation of Turkmenistan, including with the European Union and its financial institutions.
Documents signed by the head of state:
- Resolution “On approval of the Regulations on state accreditation of educational activities”;
- Decree on the dismissal of Justice Adviser Ovezmammed Shyhmammedov from the post of prosecutor of the city of Ashgabat for “improper performance of official duties and serious shortcomings in his work”;
- Order on the free transfer by the State Concern “Turkmengas” of 2 thousand tons of liquefied natural gas to the Republic of Kyrgyzstan as friendly and fraternal assistance.
Announcements of upcoming events
On February 5, the closing ceremony of the Year of Culture of the People's Republic of China in Turkmenistan will be held at the Mukam Palace of the State CulturalCenter.
In April, the II Open International Olympiad in Informatics among university students will be organized at the International Oil and Gas University.
On April 19, the International Scientific and Practical Conference and Exhibition “Scientific Views of Students in the Renaissance Era of a New Age of a Powerful State” will be held at the International Oil and Gas University.
Industry and construction
In 2024, it is planned to open 49 large buildings and structures for both social and industrial purposes in Turkmenistan. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov instructed the Government to keep the construction of facilities under strict control and ensure timely commissioning of new buildings.
Finance and Economics
Turkmenistan will establish cooperation with the European Investment Bank. In particular, negotiations will be held on a draft bilateral Framework Agreement. Interaction should ensure the expansion of economic ties with the European Union, intensify trade and attract capital investments from European countries into important economic projects of Turkmenistan.
Turkmen specialists, with the support of UNDP, will study international practices in the field of strengthening financial foundations within the framework of the III phase of the project “Platform for the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals” for 2024-2025. Measures will also be taken to increase national capacity for Turkmenistan’s accession to the WTO and an analysis of the effectiveness of phases I and II of the project will be carried out.

Horse industry
In the laboratory of the Research and Production Center for Horse Breeding of the State Association Türkmen atlary in the city of Arkadag, scientific research is carried out aimed at developing horse breeding and improving the color of Ahal-Teke horses. In particular, genetic analysis of horses is carried out in order to preserve their purebred. Horse breeding farms in the country keep breeding records of foals and issue them special certificates.

Activities of Parliament
Chairman of the Mejlis Dunyagozel Gulmanova informed about the legislative support of socio-economic programs and the organization of seminars for students of the Academy of Civil Service under the President of Turkmenistan. Work to strengthen inter-parliamentary relations was also reported, including a meeting with the Chinese delegation and a GIZ seminar on preparing a draft of a new edition of the Civil Code. Deputies also participated in seminars on gender equality and the national report on the Convention on the Rights of Women.
