At the next meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, issues of maintaining breeding purity and increasing the number of Ahal-Teke horses were discussed, TDH writes.
As Deputy Prime Minister T. Atahallyev reported, genetic analysis of horses is being carried out in the laboratory of the Research and Production Center for Horse Breeding of the State Association “Turkmen Horses” in the city of
Arkadag to preserve their purebred. Scientific research is also being conducted related to the development of horse breeding and the improvement of the color of the Ahal-Teke horses. In horse breeding farms, activities are carried out to register foals born this year for breeding and issue them with special certificates.
Noting the importance of conducting genetic analysis in order to preserve the breeding purity of Ahal-Teke horses, the head of state emphasized that good opportunities for this have been created in the Scientific and Production Center for Horse Breeding, opened in the city of Arkadag. In this regard, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to carry out regular work to increase the number of “heavenly” horses, preserve the purebred of the breed and study on a scientific basis the characteristics of the color of the horses.
