Cafes, offices and other public establishments in Lyon, France, will join the “Ask Angela” system, which provides assistance to victims of street harassment. Euro-pulse.ru reports this.
Victims of street harassment who feel in danger can go to public places and ask for Angela, a fictional employee. Once they hear the passphrase, staff will help them get home quietly and safely.
The “Ask Angela” protection system was first launched in the UK in 2016.
Public establishments that join the “Ask Angela” system will have informational signs and posters posted, and staff will receive training to assist victims of street harassment.
