A scientific and practical conference dedicated to declaring Anau the cultural capital of the Turkic world in 2024 was held at the National Museum of Turkmenistan Ak bugdaý in the city of Anau. The participants also toured a special exhibition and museum exhibits dedicated to this topic, writes the “Neutral Turkmenistan” newspaper.
The decision to declare Anau the cultural capital of the Turkic world was evidence of the success of the international cultural diplomacy of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, including the development of dialogue with the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY), the meeting participants noted.
The conference emphasized that Anau will host important scientific and youth events, concerts of performers, art and photo exhibitions, as well as traditional TURKSOY events. This will create momentum for collaboration within the organization.
Ancient Anau was rightfully chosen for this role, as it has a rich cultural and historical heritage and tourism potential. In particular, archaeological discoveries were made here that deserve study and popularization, the speakers noted.
