President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Turkmenistan Ahmet Demirok, who presented his credentials to the head of state, TDH reports.
“In order to maintain and further strengthen friendly relations between Turkey and Turkmenistan, I have appointed Mr. Ahmet Demirok as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Turkmenistan.
His personal qualities, experience and abilities give full confidence that he will carry out the high mission entrusted to him in a manner that will earn the trust of Your Excellency.
In this regard, I ask you to accept him favorably and have full confidence in what he will communicate to you on my behalf and on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Turkey, especially when he expresses my sincere and friendly wishes for happiness to Your Excellency and prosperity to the Turkmen people,” – says the text of the credentials signed by the President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
During the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the Turkish diplomat noted with satisfaction that bilateral relations between the countries have always been built on the basis of mutual respect and mutual support, and views on issues of mutual interest in international politics, especially on ensuring peace and security in the world, achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals are similar or compatible.
The head of Turkmenistan noted that he remembers with particular warmth his official visit to the Republic of Turkey in October 2023 and the negotiations and business meetings held within its framework. As you know, during this visit a number of important documents were signed and today the implementation of these important agreements is an important task.
As noted, Turkey is one of the key countries with which Turkmenistan maintains trade and economic relations. Noting the great opportunities available for their further development and deepening, the interlocutors noted the special role of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Turkish Commission on Economic Cooperation and the Business Council in this.
In this regard, the importance of the 7th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission and the exhibition of export goods of the Republic of Turkey held last month in Ashgabat was noted. According to the general opinion, it is the regular holding of exhibitions, Culture Days and other events in both countries that directly contribute to the further expansion of established productive cooperation in all areas.
Training and internships of Turkmen specialists and youth in Turkey have a significant impact on the improvement of the national education system.
“I firmly believe that there are good opportunities for further development of relations between our countries in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, and that these relations will strengthen in the future,” said the head of state.
At the end of the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov once again congratulated Ahmet Demirok on the start of his work in Turkmenistan as Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey and wished him great success in responsible diplomatic activities aimed at strengthening constructive interstate dialogue.
