On January 6, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held the first meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers in 2024, at which issues of upcoming events and development plans for the country were discussed.
In particular, the agenda included issues of regulating foreign trade and improving investment policy, plans in the areas of construction, fuel and energy complex, culture and information technology.

- On March 3-8, the IV Open International Olympiad in Mathematics will be held at the International University of Humanities and Development in Ashgabat;
- On April 15-20, the II Open International Olympiad in Informatics will be held at the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International University of Oil and Gas;
- On April 19, the International Scientific and Practical Conference and Exhibition “Scientific Views of Students in the Renaissance Era of a New Age of a Powerful State” will be held in Ashgabat;
- In May 2024, the Turkmen capital will host an International Conference at the level of Ministers of Culture dedicated to the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly;
- In October 2024, Ashgabat will host a Summit at the level of heads of government and state, dedicated to the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly.

Deputies of the Turkmen Mejlis are preparing a Memorandum on the regulation of foreign trade in Turkmenistan. They discussed its preparation during a working meeting with consultants from the World Trade Organization and the Asian Development Bank.
The Government of Turkmenistan has prepared Work Plans for 2024 for the economic, financial and banking complex. They provide for the intensification of the country’s socio-economic development, the further introduction of digital technologies and the improvement of investment policy in cooperation with international financial organizations.

In Turkmenistan, preparations are underway for celebrations on the occasion of the proclamation of the city of Anau as the cultural capital of the Turkic world in 2024. The launch event will include a concert, an exhibition of works by artists, masters of fine and decorative arts, as well as photographers from Turkic countries.
On the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the great Turkmen poet and thinker Magtymguly Fragi, Turkmenistan organizes cultural events in Azerbaijan, USA, Uzbekistan, Japan, Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Georgia, Türkiye, Iran, Armenia, Romania, Pakistan, India, Germany, Spain, Great Britain and others countries.
