Turkmenistan
1. The excise tax rate on cigarettes and other tobacco products in Turkmenistan has been increased from 116% of the customs value to 145%. The corresponding amendments to the Tax Code of Turkmenistan will come into force on January 1, 2024.
2. The Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China signed a Memorandum of Understanding on deepening scientific and technical cooperation, and the Governments of Turkmenistan and the People's Republic of China signed an Agreement on International Road Transport. The signing of the relevant documents took place following the results of the 6th meeting of the Turkmen-Chinese Intergovernmental Cooperation Committee, which was held in Ashgabat.
3. President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed the Law On accession to the international Convention on civil liability for damage from bunker fuel pollution. This Convention was adopted on March 23, 2001 in London.
4. On December 1, the opening ceremony of the annual creative exhibition of graduates and students of the university will be held in the exhibition hall of the State Academy of Arts of Turkmenistan. This time the theme of the exhibition is related to the 300th anniversary of the birth of the poet and thinker Magtymguly Fragi. The exhibition will feature works of painting, graphics, sculpture, jewelry and carpet art, ceramics related to the life and work of Magtymguly.
5. At the international exhibition of modern food production technologies “Agro-Pak Turkmenistan-2023”, the Russian coffee company “Around the World” presented its products. The company’s stand presented a line of products already sold in Turkmenistan: jelly and cocoa drink for children “White bear”, chicory “Babushkin hutorok”, chicory “Zdorovye” with rosehip extract.

6. The International Exhibition of Robots and Robotics IREX 2023 has opened in Tokyo. This year, the exhibition presents the developments of more than 650 companies from around the world. Most of the exhibits feature robotic arms and manipulators capable of performing a variety of tasks, from lifting to those requiring fine motor skills.
7. A series of magnetic storms is expected in early December, which may affect the health of weather-sensitive people. From December 1 to 3, they promise a weak disturbance of the Earth’s magnetic field - up to 2 points. Beginning the evening of December 3, geomagnetic activity will intensify to the level of a minor storm of 3, which will peak on December 4. During this period, weather-dependent people are advised to minimize physical and psychological stress, rest and avoid stress.

8. Turkmen athlete Aysenem Matayeva won the international fencing tournament in Dubai. Aysenem left no chance for her rivals in the under 11 age category. She emerged unscathed from the group stage, where she fought six opponents, and then easily defeated the UAE representative in the semi-finals and Algeria in the final.
9. On Wednesday, November 29, the second game day of the 5th round of the group stage of the UEFA Champions League was held. Based on the results of the day's matches, two new participants in the Champions League playoffs were determined. They were “Arsenal” and PSV. Previously, “Manchester City”, “Bayern”, “Inter”, “Real Sociedad”, “Real Madrid”, “Leipzig”, “Atlético”, “Barcelona”, “Borussia” Dortmund and Italian “Lazio” made it to the Champions League playoffs. The final round of the Champions League group stage will be held on December 12-13.
